AUTUMN!
Welcome to the Style for the Seasons page, written by Rosey. The goal of this page is to keep you up to date on trends for the season, while the blog Current Trends focuses mainly on current fads. I hope you enjoy the page!
Colors
For fall, neutrals are a huge staple. In summer, it might be okay to wear complete neon but in autumn, more subtle colors and browns and blacks are important. The Pantone Fashion Color Report for Fall 2012 includes greys and browns, as well as some more muted colors such as teal and mustard.
Clothing
Autumn is the time where it starts getting chillier, so bundle up! A good pair of jeans can complete any outfit, so make sure to have a few pairs handy! Since it's after Labor Day, ditch the bright white clothing and stick with oatmeal or tan ruffles or lace. Blazers and cardigans are both really hot this year, and a trench coat is a classic. Go for a bright color for a bolder look, but make sure it fits the autumn palette!
Accessories
Trade in your sunglasses, beach hats, and flip flops for scarves, beanies, and boots for the fall! Since it will be colder, make sure to stay comfortable in warmer fashions.
Boots are a staple piece for autumn and a classic. Oxfords are also becoming popular this year. Open toed shoes in general should be saved for spring and summer.
Your jewelry should compliment your outfit, as for any season. But for autumn keep the colors simple. Stick with autumn birthstones such as Sapphire (September), Opal (October), and Topaz or Citrine (November).
